Course Description: The Epistle to the Romans is considered by many scholars to be the hallmark of Pauline literature. In it Paul presents his material in such a way that the reader arrives at the exact conclusion that he desires them to have. The scope of the book covers all aspects of the work of redemption; from conviction to glorification. It also shows that the work of God is consistent; whether among the Jews or the Gentiles. No other book gives as complete and clear of an overview of the process of salvation as this Epistle.
- Study the Epistle in light of its historical context, both in Rome and in the Early Church period.
- Chart the progression of the separate theological themes as they are developed though the book.
- Follow the real life application of Biblical doctrines as Paul used to direct the lives of believers.
- Clearly lay out the development and destiny of the believer’s spiritual life.
